Passion Passion Distribution has responsibility for selling True North’s two crime series, Killer Couples, and Killer in the Family, both commissioned in HD for the UK’s Crime & Investigation Network. Killer Couples (4x60) explores infamous cases in which two people formed a deadly duo to abduct, rape, torture and murder their victims, including the notorious Moors Murderers, Ian Brady and Myra Hindley. It is presented by internationally-acclaimed crime writer, Mark Billingham. Killer in the Family is a 6 x 60’ series examining infamous cases where wives and children have been killed by their nearest and dearest in so-called “family wipeouts”. It’s presented by criminal behavioural psychologist, Laura Richards. Both series has already been sold to France, New Zealand, Australia and Sweden. ITV Global Entertainment ITV Global Entertainment has the rights to sell one of True North's most high-profile and successful documentaries - Death of a Policeman. Its biggest sale to date is to the giant US network CBS, which aired it as Rage on the Run in its 48 Hours Mystery strand. The show has also sold to Australia and to the Crime & Investigation Network in the UK. In April 2009, IGEL also took on sales for True North's latest Extraordinary People commission, The Man Who Shared His Liver, which follows people willing to risk their lives to save a loved on by donating almost half their liver, in pioneering live transplants. RDF Rights RDF Rights represent True North's most recent Channel 4 documentary Addicted To Surrogacy and the heartwarming story of Calendar Girls - 10 Years On. The first, which tells the stories of the women hooked on having babies for other people, has been licensed to numerous broadcasters in Denmark, Singapore, Norway, Belgium, Finland, Israel and Australia, as well as to BBC America. The latter tells the remarkable story - now a major feature film starring Helen Mirren - of a group of women from the Women’s Institute, who dared to bare all for a charity calendar. Electric Sky Electric Sky is successfully selling two of True North’s successful crime shows – Killer On The Run and Angel of Death to broadcasters in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden and Finland. The first tells the story of US fugitive David Bieber, who fled his native Florida after gunning down a rival bodybuilder, only to shoot an unarmed British policewoman in cold blood. The second reveals how detectives used the experience learned on the Harold Shipman investigation to flush out a nurse at Leeds General Infirmary who had been murdering elderly patients.
