True North celebrated a successful year at Monday’s Royal Television Society (Yorkshire) Awards, with four trophies for the company.
Nick Thorp won Film Editor of the Year for Sunday Life and Animal 24:7.
Mark Stokes won Camera Work of the Year for Shannon: The Mother of All Lies, One Man and His Canoe: The John Darwin Story, and Killer Couples.
Sarah Hey, Andrew Sheldon, Darrell Brown and Mark Stokes collected the award for Factual Programme of the Year, for the hour-long Panorama special Shannon: The Mother of All Lies. The film was praised for its intimate portrayal of a community in crisis, and its incisive journalism.
And True North itself was named Independent Production Company of the Year.
Company Directors Jess Fowle, Glyn Middleton and Andrew Sheldon said .... 'It's been a fantastic year for us. Despite the difficult economic climate, the company is going from strength to strength - and it's all down to the calibre and commitment of the talented team who work at True North."
